Bov (12007) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 23, 2010
from Mondial de la Bière 2010, Strasbourg - pours a translucid red-amber beer with a modest foam left; aroma of chewy malts and strawberries marmalade; velvety mouthfeel and with a quite high carbonation, sweet and gently sticky; sweetish aftertaste of berries and caramel - not my kind of beer

341 mL bottle from Dépanneur Simon Anthony in Montréal, served in a lager glass. Pours clear copper with a frothy tan head. The head slowly fades to a bare cover and leaves trivial lace. On the nose, there are aromas of grain, caramel, hops and a hint of flowers. The flavour is well balanced between toasted nutty malts and caramel on the one hand and fresh hops on the other. It is also slightly acidic throughout. The finish is medium in length and malty. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. On the whole, a rather simple beer, but one I liked more than I expected. It has a very nice malty character but does not neglect the hops. A fine session beer. 2010-10-02

Clear medium red, ring white head. Not much nose. Sweet fruit and peanut. Taste sweet - acidic fruit and peanut, just kind of OK.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2014 Bouteille 341 ml. 5%. Belle couleur brune-rousse claire.

[2793-20100227] 341mL bottle. Sweet barley bags aroma with mild fermented grapes notes. Murky, dark brown red body with a medium-lasting foamy light yellow head. Toasted fermented grains flavour with grapes. Medium body. Little rough around the edges but otherwise fine.

2010-02-27. Hazy dark red brown body, modest beige head. Aroma is somewhat yeasty, toasty malt notes. 6+ Flavour has a bitterness up front, yeasty undercurrents with an occasional yeasty bite. Nutty toasty malt underneath. Average plus palate is effervescent. Okay, bit dull, and perhaps a bit more dry than my preference for such a malty beer. Bottle from Marches de Saveurs, Montreal

DuffMan (9611) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 2, 2009
Bottle as part of the mixed-case offered by LTM. Pours a beautiful hazy deep red-orange with a dense tan head that leaves fine early lace. Nutty caramel aroma and flavour, some toast and soft marzipan notes in the finish. Mild bitterness. A very nice vienna.
