3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2008 Rating for the new Rousse version: A generous toastiness in the nose is joined by round caramel once tasted, a maltiness balanced out by earthy hoppiness and its decent bitterness. The end result is able-bodied, drinkable and quite flavorful for what is supposed to be their mass marketed "Rousse" offering. Should give Boréale Rousse a fun for its money in the party-going crowd, if proper marketing is done.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light red lager with a malty diacetyl aroma. Rather plain beer (the brewer even admits it) but it is still a nice little number.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2006 Pours a reddish copper color with a medium offwhite head. Good aroma of caramel and toasted malt. The flavor is very malt-oriented, some caramel, some toasted and some smoked, interesting. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2004 Shining clear caramel body. Mild aroma, mostly malty. Tartish vegetable crackers reminiscent caramel malt. Light diacetyl trace. Lagerish light body, medium effervescence. Tiny earthy smoke suggestion. After trying their 3 beers (for now), there’s just something not clean with the yeast which sadly imparts a little dusty feel to all their beers.
