Bottle. a pretty Red-Orange Amber color with a mostly diminishing head and a medium body with cloudy clarity. A moderate aroma of straw, resin, nuts and molasses. Fruits present grapes and apricots. The yeast is light and soapy. It finishes lightly sweet and salty and leaves a chalky sensation in the tounge.

Very little head, boring amber-orange body. This seems to be this brewer’s thing, and if that’s what they’re after, ugly looking beers, then more power to them. Aroma of bready malts, very simple. Taste is a nice mix of malt with a bitter finish. Some of these "red" beers end up very watery, but this one again has a great taste. Crappy looking beers with poor aroma but great taste - that’s this brewer for you.

LTM’s entry in the free for all that is Quebec Rousse. Pours a hazy reddish colour, 2 fingers of frothy head, though not much lacing. Aroma of bread, almond, wood, some spice, some earthiness. Taste of toffee, caramel, some wood, almond, bready malts - some citrus hops sneak up on you here. Light to medium bodied, very much suited for a session. I’ve never been to sure what to think of this one - some days I’ve loved it while other days I found it passable. Pairs well with german cuisine.

Bouteille de 341ml, robe ambée, arôme de mélasse et de caramel, goût de caramel brulé, bonne rousse d’introduction.

Pours a dark caramel colour. The head is small and short lived. Aroma is simple, yet nice. Caramel, nuts and a touch of yeast. It tastes very nutty with biscuit up front as well. It tastes like a good liquid scone. Caramel, roasted malt and a hint of spice from the hops. Mouth feel is pleasant. Like a lagered ESB.Decent.

Bottle from the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/quebec/g target=blank>La Trappe à Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. Copper/bronze in colour, dissipating off-white head, still looking. The aroma has caramel malt upfront, some sweetness and alcohol which is a surprise considering this is only 5%. The flavour has notes of wheat, some caramel malts, light sweetness, light fruit. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a moderate lingering bitterness.

Reddish amber, not much head. Sharp mouthfeel. Malty aroma and flavor. Not too much to say about it.

2010-02-27. Hazy dark red brown body, modest beige head. Aroma is somewhat yeasty, toasty malt notes. 6+ Flavour has a bitterness up front, yeasty undercurrents with an occasional yeasty bite. Nutty toasty malt underneath. Average plus palate is effervescent. Okay, bit dull, and perhaps a bit more dry than my preference for such a malty beer. Bottle from Marches de Saveurs, Montreal
