TipsyMcStager (900), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 6, 2009 Aroma is spicy, clove. Pours cloudy orange-brown, high carbonation. Alcohol is too prominent, but there is some bitterness. This is an unusual beer, doesn’t taste like any weizen i’ve ever had. Don’t really know what to make of it. Fred82 (339), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 3, 2009 750ml bottle, 2009 version with yellow label. Pours hazy golden with a small head. Head is short lived. Aroma is spicy with some wheat and fruity peaches. Lots of spices. Taste is alcoholic with lots of spices. Some wheat and fruity peaches. Overall quite spicy. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Nov 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a lavish white head. Wheat tones; banana and pear like esters, tart fruit, honey, hints of berry and a spicy wheat finish. Modest warming fruit comes out a bit overtly sweet. JulienHuxley (165), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada Oct 1, 2009 Bottle 2009 Vintage. Banana and wheat nose, alcohol esters, cherries and ginger. Taste is wheaty, apricot, pineapple, alcohol, spice. Average mouthfeel, a little too carbonated for my taste nice appearance reddish orange color with some head. Anyways, drunk with awesome friends. drjay44 (756), Salida, Colorado, USA Sep 12, 2009 11.5 oz. bottle. 8% ABV. pours a thin head of good duration with slight lacing, over a slightly hazy, golden (SRM 8) body.....nose has peach, banana, honey, some floral tones and cereal.....taste initially slightly sweet cereal, then dry Grapenut tones, finishes dry.....mouth feel is fairly light, carbonation medium. This is a pleasant, but not particularly note worthy Wheat Ale. Based on the comments of others I need to explore this Brewery more. Sammy (3924), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 7, 2009 2009 Festival Bières et Saveurs . Cuvee series at 10%. Orange cloudy with a small white head. A full mouthfeel that boldly hits your tastebuds, and hardly lets go. A little tart, pineapple and the wheat. Not greatly drinkable today, last beer of the day, bit could be remarkable with the right food pairing. Another well crafted beer from this brewery. joss (3630), Garching b. München, Germany Aug 17, 2009 Bottle.
Light nose.
Peachy golden, low creamy head.
Fermented fruit, apples pears, a bit spice, light alcohol, Estery aftertaste.
Lanchester (18), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 14, 2009 Summer 2009 bottle listed at 10%. A little disappointed in this beer since I was blown away by their Doppelbock and Weizenbock varieties. Pours a hazy yellow-orange color with very little head. Alcohol and bananas are detected in the aroma. Taste is rather sharp, bananas an citrus come through but are overpowered by alcoholic heat and a sticky sweetness that leaves me quite unrefreshed...especially on a deathly humid Montreal evening. Not sure what happened here, though I still hold the brewery in high regard.
