pootzboy (900), Calgary/ Kitchener, Alberta, Canada Nov 9, 2007 350ml corked bottle
Decanted a deep reddish-brown hazey ale into the stein. Wonderful billowy 3 finger sticky cap that lasts and laces
Aroma: Wunderbar! Almonds, bread, woody earthyness, a light musty-sweetness.
Profile: Toasty, nutty, rich thick malts..full bodied and a rich mouth feel...like liquid toasted walnut bread smeard with a leafy herbal-woody marzipan...totally non cloying...finishes with the ample noble hops drying the flavor out with a sharp wet birch wood bark tone as the dark malts leave a light pucker...bready herbal after taste.
Rich, deeply flavorful, satisfying and outrageously drinkable...perhaps that is the secret of this "Sticke"
Probably this brewer’s best effort ..an Alt to die for...hope it’s available again...I’ll buy cases next time.

Clear copper lager with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is a blend of nuts, toffee, caramel and beef stock. Medium-bodied and watery with expired carbonation. Thin, bitter flavor. Finishes bitter and dry. Thanks to TheCheeseMan for sharing the bottle! oakbluff (243), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Pour from a 750ml, dark chestnut, cloudy good head retention. Nose- soft caramels. Taste- sweet dough and spice. Quite grassy bitter on the finish which leaves a drying aftertaste. Aspirin like bitterness/chalkiness. jjpm74 (3446), Connecticut, USA Sep 6, 2008 750ml bottle courtesy of glouglouburp. Pours brown with a red hue and a nice tan head. Smells of spice, wildflowers, soap, straw, some earthy hints. Tastes of molasses, a hint of chocolate, lots of spice, some fruity notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied. Complex and very enjoyable stickbier! VeloVampire (410), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 4, 2008 750 ml shared bottle - poured a clear copper with a slight cloudiness from the residual yeast. Candy sweet, caramel malt aroma with some metallic hop element. Flavour quite nice actually - a pleasant bitterness balanced nicely with toasted malts and a touch of fruit esters. An all-around solid beer.
