This brown lager offers sweet citrus flavors that arise from a selection of thirteen Quebec malts from barley, wheat, oats, and rye. It’s bouquet comes from a blend of Saaz Czech hops, coriander seed and bitter orange peel. The result is a wonderful festive beer!

Pours a lightly hazy deep mahogany topped a fair amount of tanned frothy head. Retention is pretty good and some nice chunky lacing decorate the sides of the glass. The nose gives roasted malts, orange, coriander and earthy yeasts. The hops don’t really shine through or get lost in all that spice. The taste blends features of a red ale and a witbier which is pretty interesting and works well. The roasted malts pair up with the spice and fruity elements to give a nice festive character. Cheers!

Dark brown with a large tuscan head that lingers long and leaves behind a little lacing. Aroma is coriander, chestnut, cloves, earth. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, well balanced on the palate with a bitter citrus peel finish. Taste is orange peel, coriander, roasted malts, wood, hazelnuts.

Very nice desert beer. Lots of webs, lustrous mouthfeel thanks to the rye and oats. The added spices blend well with the yeast... this is like a heavy dark lagered wit, I suppose... which is a fantastic cross in my books. I didn’t know there were Saaz hops in here until reading the deScription, I think their floral quality was overpowered by everything else.

Bouteille 750ml.

Lively carbonation with a cloudy brown colour. Orange peel aroma with some nutmeg or something sweet with a floral note. Slightly roasted flavour with a fairly bitter note. An interesting brew for sure I’d have another.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep brown/orange with light head. Vegetable aroma. Flavors of coriander and grains. Bitter. Based on the aroma I’m not sure this bottle is spot on.

Smells a little dank, some basement aromas with coffee on the nose. Taste has some coffee bitterness, some sweetness as well. This is all very nose-heavy as the palate dies out very quickly. Good retaining head, pours dark mahogany. A little sourness that gathers in your throat as well. Bottle from Peluso’s.

Amber colour, great frothy white head. Medium carbonation. Clove banana aroma. Pleasant beer with malt, clove and banana flavour. Lovely refreshing beer.
