This is a pretty nice beer. Pours cloudy straw with an initial foamy head that dissipates to a light covering. Aromas are reasonably muted, some banana and clove, lots of yeast. Reasonably big grassy hop finish. Tastes are very light sweet and lingering bitterness. Medium creamy in the mouth with some carbonation and an acidic bite.

bottle from local metro A: cloves, papaya, banana, floral App: hazy blond small white head with good lacing. T/p: body is medium with long bitter finish. average carbonation. O: suprising sharp bitterness. Aromas are subtles but pleasing. Is only lack fruity flavors to make it even more enjoyable, the bitterness is a little too high... and that comes from a hophead.

375 ml bottle purchased at La Saucisserie BAM in Laval (Quebec) on August 28, 2012. A little misty light blonde, medium head. Aroma of corn and exotic fruits, very sweet. Wheat mineral taste, slightly fruity, dry bitterness. Wya to dry!

Draught at Volo. Hazy yellow-gold with a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of fruit and smoke foremost followed by caramel malt and spices. Flavour of caramel malt, light smoke and some fruit. Average to medium bodied. An odd beer, I didn’t love it but it’s interesting and O.K. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

750ml bottle. Cloudy yellow leaning to amber pour with average head. Smells like ketchup chips and that’s all I can think. It’s a little grainy besides but so much ketchup chip. The same on the palate. Ketchup chips all the way. Strange but still good. A lot of sweet spice; cinnamon and nutmeg. Interesting but off the tracks a bit.

Very good hefeweizen. Especially since it’s a style I sometimes have a love-hate relationship with. Pours pretty clear blond with a little cloudiness. Has a coy yeast aroma and a little hops that mixes together oddly, spicily. Taste has pretty high carbonation for a hefe and a big bitterness that takes over from the initial soft yeast and wheat. Bottle from Peluso.

My Bottom Line :
Citrusy hop resins and subtle banana esters reach creamed corn allusions in this polished, but overly eclectic brew.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A rich head of foam stays atop the hazy blond.
-The nose is not bright and hoppy enough for a brew billed ’Hopfenweisse’.
-The creamed corn component is disturbing once your nostrils have latched on to it. As these guys always brew clean beers, I’m going to say this oddness is a contribution of Frontenac wheat malts...
-Mouthfeel is cushy and highly satisfying.
-Wheat is too important in the flavor profile and aroma for what is billed as a Hopfenweisse.

Bottle.

Cloudy yellow pour with a thin white head. Pleasant aroma of banana, herbal hops, tropical fruits and bubble-gum. Very good flavor of bananas, tropical fruits, herbal hops and mild bubble-gum with a moderate bitter finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Good stuff!
