75cl bottle. Pours brown, with a huge head which lasted most of the glass. The aroma was sweet, malty, not so much hops. The taste was bitter, pretty harsh and unrefined. Over all another disappointment, maybe if it ages a bit longer? Don’t think i will be trying again.

Bottle. As my predescesors dumbly store aged version (2008). Aroma is quite a molasses, coffee, dark fruit and caramel. Taste is nice and sweet but with a nice bittering hop finale, some herbs here. Good warming mouthfeel.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2009 5,99$ for 750ml, 2008 version, dumbly-store-aged; I saw it cheaper although I’d pay even more for this one. No wonder it scores so high in the style! Powerful fruit hop aroma. Very tasty, malty sweet and hoppy bitter, long grapefruit bitter aftertaste. American-style hop that has more power in the taste than I remembered from last summer (aging?). I’d really like to try the 7,2% 2007 version if I could find it... This Alt is climbing here...

Rich amber in colour with a long lasting large beige head, excellent lacing. The aroma is quite toasty, some sweet caramel malts with a bit of light citrus. The flavour is of toasted malts, a fair amount of citrus hops, quite smooth and creamy with some chocolate. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, toasty with a lingering bitterness.

Quite a bit of noticeable hops, excellent mouthfeel.

750ml bottle from Marché des Saveurs du Québec in Montreal, Quebec.
Opened on December 14, 2008.
Vintage 2008.

2008 bottle I believe. Thick lasting head. Very dark copper. Brown sugar, dark malt and light chocolate in the aroma. Flavour has a peppery start, malty pepper middle and a nice hoppy finish. Delicious.
