Bottle. Deep orange colour, medium viscosity. Aroma is sweet cooked apples with notes of fresh skins. The palate is very sweet and sticky, with muted apple flavour, quite simple really, with a boozy finish. Big on sweetness but lacking complexity.

[2246-20090606] Sample. Sweet wooden apple barrel aroma. Clear, dark yellow body with no head but some thick legs. Sweet apple flavour has a lovely vanilla flower-like finish. Medium body is sweet. Really enjoyable, a surprise.

muzzlehatch (4424) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUL 1, 2005
Sampled from bottle at the Mondial. Rich deep gold, nice legs but only moderately thick texture...lots of alcohol in the nose, baked apples emerge from the burning boozy heat...body quite sweet, alcohol definitely less prominent though still a bit much, juicy and not at all dry, bits of interesting date-prune-almond in the midpalate, but in the end just too alcoholic to be really pleasant.

tiggmtl (4548) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 21, 2005
Strong, brown sugar, alcohol, vanilla, spirit-like aroma. Clear, still and viscous deep golden body that coats the sides of the glass. Very sweet apples in brown sugar with vanilla, oak and alcohol all very apparent. Was this aged in wood? Strong alcohol warming. Syrupy without being sticky. Sampled at Mondial de la Bière 2005.

Clearish burnished golden body. Still and calm. Brandyish concentrated apple pie nose. Chewy and nicely balance with acidity, a characteristic shared by all the ciders from Verger de la Colline. Far drier than a pomelle, very pure feel despite added alcohol. Languorous woody alcohol (woodiness seems to excuse the alcohol presence that could have been too much if it were not strikingly flavourful) finish. Packed juicy flavours, crusty, cinnamon, perhaps just a bit too much burn for my liking, but I’m loving it. Liquorous medium body, biting alcohol peaks. Excellent.
