domienS (121) - Oostakker, BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2014
cloudy orange/amber beer with no saturation or foam at all. smells fruity and a little bit yeast. Not a very pleasant smell I must say. Something seems off. Tastes very sweet. Leaves a long over sweet palate. This beers suffers from to much sweetness and oxidation!

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
Alengrin (2097) - BELGIUM - AUG 18, 2014
The most successful of this series of flower beers, with hibiscus. Dirty pinkish, thin head, dark, bright red colour. Sweet aroma of exotic fruits, strawberry jam, grenadine, lemon juice, flowers, apple sauce, sour cream and a lot of DMS (red cabbage). Stronger carbonation than the others in this series, artificial, sugary sweetness that cloys into the finish, rosewater, mildly floral hops in the finish. I like the others better.

Bottle. Hazy red amber, low white head. Perfumed soapy nose. Sweet tropical fruit start, berries, flowery notes. Medium bidy, sparkly, slightly sticky. Perfumed and strawberrylike aftertaste. Bit too sweet for my taste.

Idiosynkrasie (3927) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - APR 20, 2014
330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy amber colour with huge, thick, half-way lasting, white head. Sweet, floral and artificially fruity aroma, hints of raspberry, fruit gums, herbal overtones. Taste is moderately sweet, dry, minimally herbal overtones, fruity hints of raspberry. Not as sweet as other specimen of this series.

jookos (2350) - FINLAND - JAN 29, 2014
Bottle. Well lucky me, I found another one of these flower-themed beers! And as if sensing my dismay, it gushed all over my kitchen counter. Orange cloudy appearance. Similar slight caramel-floral- nose and sweet body as the rose- version. However, this is a lot better than that overly-icky sweet drink. The sweetness isn’t that bad, actually quite ok for a dessert beer of some sorts. But I don’t think that’s by design. I was probably just lucky to get a bottle with some unintended microbes that’s been feasting on it (hence the gushing).

bax (1150) - Hasselager, Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 18, 2013
(bottle 18/12-2013) vulcano when opening, fast fading off white head, clear red color, slightly sour aroma, sweet flour taste. BB date "blank".

Bottle, bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours light hazy red with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has flowers, light red apples, light sweet. Highish carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, light vinious, very floral, some pumpkin. Lingering dry bitterness with some light warming finish.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 02/08/2014. Bright amber orange, radiant fox red, quickly fizzing away off-white head. Smell is sweet malts, sticky syrup nose, very sweet & sticky, sugary with some hibiscus, thick strawberry jam & thick candy sugar, too sweet. Taste is sweet candy sugar, caramel malts, liquorish, strawberry jam, sweet white sugar, sweet pepper, berries, sweet leaves,… Sticky & high carb. Ugh, why would you, use a sickengly sweet 9 % ABV BSDA to showcase a flower? Wouldn’t something light, blond with brett be so much nicer? This is a bit more enjoyable than the Rose one.
