Pours dark red with a thick, creamy, white head that leaves thick lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, roasted grain, raisin, plum. Malt forward in the flavor, not overly sweet, roasty and fruity taste with slight sour and bitter overtones. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, sweet finish. It’s a good beer for the price, $7 for a 750 ml. bottle at Pacific Liquor.

Clear mahogany with cappuccino head. Passito and yellow fruit aroma, a little bit of alcohol, briwn sugar and burnt caramel. Awkward bitterness similar to overriped tropical fruit.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is dark red colored and pours a large and stable cream colored head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is a nice palate of dark fruits, caramel and licorice, and in the background some roasted malts. The taste is light sweet, soft and full bodied with a nice hop bitterness with tones of roasted malts and some licorice. The finish is light bitter and warming with a hint of alcohol.
