1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
What was this? A watery stout? Dark, like a porter, but surprisingly little porter character. Totally without porter feel in the mouth. Not nasty. Simply not a porter.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Chalky brown color. Cream-white head. Intricate lacing. Aroma is bitter, roasty, creamy cocoa and a bit dirty. Creamy mouthfeel. The palate is bitter and chocolately and has a liveliness that lasts a very long time. For a beer cocktail I was surprised but something about originiality makes me balk. Nowadays, blending a stout and a pale ale to make a porter seems taboo.
