WYhomebrewer (4), USA does not count Apr 1, 2007 Nice drinkable beer, somewhat thin but I like that too many Scottish ales try to be Porters and sometimes I don’t want to drink my lunch but still desire a roasted flavor...overall very enjoyable! ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 24, 2006 Updated: Jul 28, 2006On Tap @ The Brewhouse, Helena: Slighty smokey aroma with some toffee, smokey and vaguely chocolatey flavors; somewhat thin, not too sweet and a little tart. A little strange, but good enough. Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA May 7, 2006 Described as being robust, this comes across as a rather thin entry in the style. Looks fine, a deep brown with reddish highlights and a slender tan head. The aroma contains roasted malts, toffee, and a trace of smoke. Medium-to-light bodied, it’s got a toasty malt taste, a hint of chocolate, and an out-of-place vinegary finish. Drinkable if it’s what’s on hand.
