Cornfield (4409), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 20, 2004 Updated: Jul 5, 2005From the bottle, this poured a clear copper color with a foamy light tan head. The aroma is malty, not too sweet, with some fruity sourness to it. The taste is malty with that same almost citric sourness - not bitter, but sour. I might have liked this better if I wasn’t prepared to be drinking a marzen.

World Market, Orland Park, IL
badgerben (3231), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Oct 15, 2004 Burnt Beer Night: Amberish color with a foamy head. Weird, dusty aroma. Bad taste; kind of like a mashed together blend of malts that have no business being in beer together. Very rough around the edges. Grainy. TheBeerGod (2873), Newport News, Virginia, USA Dec 5, 2004 Bottled. Pours a light copper with a medium tan head. Aroma is nicely malted with light caramel and bready notes (pumpernickel). Taste is malty with an odd fruit tartness and sourdough bread flavor. Light nutty notes. Body has some thin portions but is smooth. Finish is slightly tart fruit, light caramel and malt. BeerandBlues2 (2623), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 15, 2006 Draught at 2006 Craft Lager Festival. Pours light pecan brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is sweaty yeast, caramel malt (straw), and earth. Medium sweet caramel malt, sweaty dough yeast, buttery notes at the end. Medium bodied, thin and oily palate. presario (2497), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 26, 2004 Bottle. Nice head and lacing. Deep amber. Light malty aroma. Sweet caramel flavour almost tending towards chocolate. A little bitterness and salt in the finish. Enjoyable light beer.
