Can poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of skunk bud, pine resin, biscuit, earthiness and citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, skunk bud, pine resin and grapefruit with a smooth dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

Wow what a difference a few years makes. I had this beer about 10 years ago and it immediately became one of my all time favorite IPAs period, then I had it a few years ago (on yet another trip through Big Sky Country) and it was just not the same (good but not great). NOW just yesterday my friend brings me a can of the Tumbleweed from his trip through MT and this Baby is Back! Pours with a beautiful floral/piney head, nice copper color and the flavor just bursts out on the first swig begging you to take a 2nd. For me the best IPA Iíve ever had in a can period! Glad to see they have returned to the old recipe or stepped up the brewing process in the past few years. If you get a chance try this IPA as it is one of the most under rated IPAs out there Cheers.

One of the best, and most consistent IPAs Iíve tasted. Very hoppy, but not so over-the-top that your taste buds are sore from flavor. Itís still very well-balanced and has a flavor that you can never get tired of!

unfiltered cloudy amber with a white head. mild nose is hop focused: medium light citrus fruit with a pale biscuit / sourdough character supplied by yeast and malt. creamy texture with somewhat subdued hop flavors but pronounced hop bitterness - the caustic quality suggests high acid centennial. medium body, frothy middle thinning in the finish. decent.

on tap-pours a thin rich light tan head and cloudy gold color. Aroma is lemon/pine, some light/medium malt. Taste is lemon/pine/resin hops bite, secondary light/medium malt-caramel. Dryish finish.

What a beauty: slight haze; apricot hue; frothy-foamy, lasting head. Creamy texture up front, full and sharp toward the finish. Bold and snappy hop elements: huge, sappy pine and zingy grapefruit. Malts took a back seat, but they provided a decent backbone of caramel and toast. Pretty good stuff.

By far the best IPA I have ever tasted. I was lucky enough to try this several years ago when they won the Gold at the great american (which was not last year as the description says it was like 4 or 5 years ago). Anyway I just tried it again this last week while in Helena at the Windbag (great place) and although I canít remember from 5 years back it was AWESOME. HUGE aroma, but unexpected nice sweet, smooth, fruity flavor with a just the right amount of bitterness. Looked for this in bottles but could not find in any stores. Stopped by the Tap Room and they had cases of it for sale...bought 2. Once home I did notice the bottles were not as good as the draft which is the case with most beers but this is still my new favorite beer and only perfect score I have given !
