COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lewis Osterweis Hard Ginger Beer is a wheat beer with a ginger bite. The body is lighter than a normal wheat beer, but the sweetness plays well with the tartness and spicy snap of the ginger.

Whew! This is quite the gingery drink. Very strong, forward, spicy ginger wallop that is unavoidable and makes this brew hard to drink quickly. Definitely a sipper with dinner and not a lone session ale. That said, it definitely fits the bill- a ginger beer through and through!

Pale straw-colored beer with a foamy white head that has decent retention. Weak semi-sweet nose with hints of spice and yeast. Flavor starts sweet, but is then counter balanced by a bit of musky bitterness and the pleasant bite of ginger. This makes the beer seem less sweet than it is and enhances its drinkability substantially. Nice change of pace beer, especially if you like ginger, which I do.

Pour is a clear gold with a average white head. Aroma is all ginger but also a little soapy. Flavor is sweet at first then comes the ginger and a little spicy heat. Like a real ginger ale with a small amount of alcohol. I don’t know who would want this in the regular rotation.

This beer pours a clear yellow color with a large white head that fades rapidly. The aroma blends ginger and wheat, and the taste has a really nice blend of a slight to moderate spiciness from the ginger but a crispness and mild sweetness from the wheat. The palate fuses a slick texture, medium-light body, and soft carbonation, and the beer finishes with a dry, ginger bite through the finish.

Sampled at the RBSG 2014. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of ginger, pale malts, some sugar and straw. The taste was similar with a sweet, spiciness in the backbone and moderate carbonation. Very tasty.

Nearly clear. Tastes like fake candy ginger. Almost soda like. This doesnt work well.

On tap @ Schlafly. Slightly hazed golden pour with a white head. Nice spicy and sweet ginger aroma. Kind of candied ginger/ginger ale. Mild 7 Up and simple syrup. Nice ginger flavor to the beer. Slight spiciness. Fairly sweet as well. Lots of simple syrup, candied ginger, and a hint of tea. Easy to drink.

Sampled at the RBSG14 Grand Tasting - Pours hazy yellow with a large white head. The aroma has lots of ginger, pale malt and a cleanness to it. It has a light smooth body with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet pale malt, authentic tasting ginger, spiciness and a bit of cream. The finish has a lot of ginger as is very refreshing. This is much drier and more refreshing than most non-alcoholic ginger beers. Really liked this.

Draft at the Tap Room during RBSG’s grand tasting. Pours a hazy pale gold with a white head. Notes of ginger, sweet and pale malts, sugar, pepper, and straw. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Very good ginger beer.
