On tap at LAB. Dark brown pour with amber highlights. Thick frothy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and sweet malts. Very sweet aroma. Taste is of dark cocoa, roasted coffee beans, with a medium sweet malt backbone. Very simple. Not much to it.

On tap at The Lab, Asheville. Dark brown pour with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee, and faint floral hops. The hops somewhat mask the delicate chocolate malts while not completely overshadowing them. Finish is pleasant. Nice porter!

Draft during the RBWG bus tour. Poured a slightly thinner bodied dark dark brown with an average sized tight foamy beige head. Aroma/flavor of chocolate powder, lactose, dark toast, grains, dark malt. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap. Pours clear black with a large, creamy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is chocolate, cookie, roast malt, earthy and spicy hops, dates and figs. Flavor is dark malt dominant with dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap on the 2014 RBWG bus. Pours a hazy brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with a bit of light chocolate. Flavor is a touch thin up front with growing roasted malts and bitter chocolate notes.

Draft to taster at RBWG (thanks to LAB for the beer!). Looks good; a translucent cola with light beige head. Smells of dark malt and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. An approachable, easy-drinking porter.

Pours an appetizing and barely translucent dark-chocolate brown with a decent light tan head. Firm aroma has roast malt, coffee, nutty and subtle semi-sewer chocolate notes. Scrumptious, smoky flavor delights with coffee, nutty, earthy and chocolate tones all building on a core of roast malt. Firm, smooth texture is fairly fizzy. My fave so far at Lexington Ave. Brewing - then again, I am partial to porters and stouts.

On tap at LAB. Some chocolate note with roast behind. Slightly acrid in the flavor. Slightly chalky. Body is a bit too light.

Black pour with creamy off white head and lace. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Light sour malt flavor, light/medium coffee notes. A good malt bitter. ok in my book

Beer 42 Asheville trip - billed on the sign as "Porter," but based on what I experienced, I would guess that this is one and the same. Poured a very dark brown. Aroma lightly chocolate, faint nut. Flavor is a match. Not bitter. Just not very exciting.
