Beer 42 Asheville trip - billed on the sign as "Porter," but based on what I experienced, I would guess that this is one and the same. Poured a very dark brown. Aroma lightly chocolate, faint nut. Flavor is a match. Not bitter. Just not very exciting.

Dark brown - almost black, actually. Why don’t we just go ahead and call it black. Smells chocolatey, with some boozy aromas, too. Taste is chocolate, coffee, some rum and woody notes. I liked it.

Draft in a flight at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with a small head. Great level of roasting to the smell and this flavor profile. Nice and inviting.

A reddish brown color with a beige head. Aroma contains some caramel, chocolate, and toffee. The flavor is malty with with more caramel and toffee showing up. An oddly annoying sourness is in there. The aftertaaste is somewhat sweet. Overall its alright.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, leafy hops and caramel. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
