3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask (handpump), Lord Raglan brewpub, Nangreaves, nr Bury. A good place to visit to try a number of the beers brewed on the premises - unlike many brewpubs, it carries a full range of the beers (7 on my visit). Another 3.8% beer. This one is a deepish copper coloured session bitter with a traditional, slightly autumnal feel. Its dry and on the malty side, with some balancing bitterness. Solid, if unspectacular.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
A little caramel on the nose; a clear, brown/copper look with little or lacing; disappointingly lacking in malt flavours with only a little sweetness and no hop bittering; a well bodied yet easy drinking beer; little flavour and nothing to prompt a revisit.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask, White Star, Liverpool. Coppery bronze colour with a thin head. A dry and malty affair; as befits the abv, its a pretty (charge of the) light brigade moment....

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Copper brown with a small off-white head. Aromas are weetabix malts with earthy, peppery hops. Some light grapefruit. Flavours are very dry and earthy with biscuit malts. Hoppy but a bit thin.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask Conditioned, at the Market Porter, Borough, London. </br>
Bronzed amber, with little or no head. Dry bitter aroma, slightly yeasty. Forward bitter flavour is short on the palate giving way to a tangerine finish. Decent enough.
