rwgould (200) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 10, 2011
Appearance: Transcluscent golden yellow, small frothy head. Aroma: Smells like another eastern european lager. Sweet and hoppy. Palate: Medium bodied, oily, but still watery. Taste: medium bitterness, slightly sweet, not much of a finish. Yup, another boring eastern european lager.

Pours bright gold into a stein. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Mild skunky cookie aromas. Crisp with sweet bread, caramel and cookie upfront turning a mild saaz finish.

500mL Can from the LCBO. 5.2%. Clear, goldy-yellow colour with a bubbly white foam, medium retention. Smell is metallic hops and grains. Taste is grainy, lightly hopped quiite smooth, with light carbonation. Not bad, but nothing to distinguish it among the plethora of Polish challengers.

A bit on the weak side of the standard Polish lager, Lezajsk begins with a hint of malt sweetness and then overpowers with a metallic, grainy hoppiness. Not to be hated, but not to be chosen over others either; no corn and no skunk (perhaps hence the "premium") but nothing that can justify the metallic overtones of an EE macro
