A nice light tasting beer from Poland. It has a pale yellow head, and a smooth finish. Great for hot summer days.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with wiry white head. Clear aroma of hops with a yeasty note and a touch of cardboard. Bitter, hoppy onset. Medium mody. Grainy sweetness towards the finish. Not bad but definitely nothing in the vicinity of the best beer in the world (this is a reference to an old Polish song, the first verse of which reads "The best beer in the world is Lezajsk Pelne."

500ml can from a corner supermarket in Gillingham as part of a six Polish beers for £5 deal. How can you say no to that - especially as all, apart from this one, were 7% abv! It’s a drinkable global pale lager. Not very tasty, but at this price you don’t expect that. Somebody had this listed as a Premium Lager. Gawd help us! Premium Lager is, of course, purely a marketing exercise - it’s the beers that a brewery will put most of its advertising behind, and will put a "premium" on the price as a result. It’s not a fucking beer category - and even if it was, this beer is as far from it as it is possible to be, for fuck’s sake. Anyway, yeah, the beer is drinkable. And as expected. Bland. With a slightly filthy taste, But drinkable. And cheap.

Can. Not too bad for what it is. Slightly malty, slightly less hoppy, with soapy notes coming through. Light sweetish, light bitterness. Drinkable macro-lager.

Bottle purchased in Greenpoint after Torst. Pours a clear golden body with minor white lacing. Aroma is faint malt, grass and grain. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of bland malt. Boring.

Can, from an ethnic food store in Scunthorpe. Gold, fluffy and sustained white head and good condition. Gentle chalky malt notes and low piney hop resin in the nose, quite full but clean in the mouth with solid malt, mineral chalkiness and a good hop resin note that has an almost American feel, lingering citrusy hops and a muted grainy sweetness in the finish.

Countbeer (5240) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2013
Can: Thanks to Benzai: Medium sized white head, changes with regular speed into a thin half open lacing on top of a clear yellow colored beer. Aromas of grains, malts, cinnamon, hints of clove, plastic and dust. Pretty nice aroma. Flavours of bitters, malts, woody malts, some forest herbs, cardboard and something light paper dusty. Aftertaste is nice smooth bitter with some soft grainy, malty and herbal tones. Low carbo, soft smooth light creamy mouthfeel, low to medium body and a light creamy texture. Decent pale lager.

Benzai (9898) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2013
50cl can shared with Countbeer at minitasting. Clear orange-golden color, medium sized quickly diminishing frothy a bit soapy white head. Smell malts, lightly sweet. Taste malts, lightly sweet, soft bitterness quite well hidden but noticeable. Medium carbonation, low to medium body. Way better than expected.
