From what I have seen of other reviews this is a rave beer. A rock star of double IPAs, this beer sends reviewers in paroxysms of delight. From what I have been enjoying over the last fifteen minutes there may be good reason for this. Deep orange amber colour with little enduring head, I have seen prettier beers. Aromas of massive hoppy tangerine, chlorophyll, green spruce cones and undertones of amber malts. My feeling is that the malt aromas play very much a second fiddle to the hops in this style but there are examples of balance (see Middlemiss Hodgson IPA). The flavour is just a massive surge of bitterness all at once. A cascade (forgive the unintentional hop pun) of hop driven flavours all struggling to make themselves felt at once like a hoard of children finding easter eggs. Tastes significantly of oranges, tangelo and tangerine with some gooseberry with the malt, while taking that back seat, making gentle suggestions that it too is there. Is it rave-worthy? Probably. I found it nice enough and I think my rating is justifiable.

0.5l bottle at Pozarevac Grand Tasting 2014. Rich orange, small head. Rich skunky hops. Grapefruit, good funk, lots of oily hops. Rich, dense classic big DIPA. Tasty, hop forward.

At a private tasting in Serbia with markoijelena and luttonm. "Pour it" orange skin, filtered (just a bit hazy) with a off white foamy head which leaves s lacing. Nose: pine resin. Mouth: oily feel of resin. Cool.

Bottle, 11/4/2014. Golden copper pour, sparkling, oily white head. Aroma is dank onion, grapefruit peel and mild citrus flesh, strong earthy pine. Taste is grapefruit, citrus, quickly gives way to strong pine character, lingering bitterness. Medium body, not sticky. Not getting a lot of citrus, but rather overpowered by big pine bitterness, a bit unbalanced for me.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear medium gold, with a smallish off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves reasonable lacing. Citrus hops notes dominate the aroma, with plenty of mandarin, lemon and lime in the mix, as well as a touch of biscuit malt. Strong lemon and grapefruit hops up front give way to a good amount of biscuit and caramel malt in the mid-palate. Lime hops and a touch of pine keep the finish nice and clean. A very well-balanced and surprisingly sessionable DIPA.

A hectic double IPA with massive lemon citrus hops and strong biscuity caramel flavour. The only thing I didnít like was the aroma, I could almost smell some durian in there, was a bit on the pungent side for me but a great beer nonetheless. Donít think itís a 100/100 beer though.

Golden orange with a white head. Powerful citra hop aroma, and thatís about it. Flavor is similar, screaming "all citra, all the time!" It does have a light and residual caramel malt sweetness, but itís well hidden. This is a good brew however it needs more complexity. Iím honestly shocked at the 100 rating. I made a SMaSH home-brew with citra and it tasted pretty close to this (I am not saying I am on par with pro brewers). Fun, interesting, but not a go-to.

500mL bottle BB 10/12/14 Rather attractive golden beer with properly dense, creamy white head rising up and holding. Aroma is amazing! Just BOOM passionfruit, ripe guava, citrus, rockmelon, grass, green herbs, with just enough toasty malt to make itself known. Slick sort of texture, thick without alluding too much to that substantial abv, moderate carbonation. Palate delivers those beautiful hop flavours of passionfruit, lime, grass & melon, with an obligatory malt biscuit note. Bitterness is moderately high, not as aggressive as American IPAís tend to be, long warming finish. Amazing showcase of hops, well done.

Brilliantly clear amber-copper colour with thin white head. Pungent fruity hop aroma. Grapefruit, marmalade, caramel and a touch of pine. Oily medium body. Taste is kinda sweet actually with a kinda biscuity character Thereís a strong bitterness, but it is very well rounded. Slick finish. Awesome beer.

Bottle at Brew at Quay, Auckland, August 2014. Hazy golden with a medium white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, mango, grass and some cookies. The finish was dry and bitter. A tasty one.
