500ml bottle pours a black color with a bit of frothy head. Lots of hops overpower the toasted malts a little.

Bitterer than I was expecting, you can taste the good But a lot of the bitterness seems to come from the roast of the grains. Oatmeal balances it all and rounds it out well

what do you mean no hops? Actually quite pleasant. Subtle choc and coffee aromas. A nice stout. Really opened up once at room temp - cereals and slight roast coming through. Lower alcohol than recent stouts - nice to have a beer showcasing the malt side only.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of bitter oranges, ash, coffee, dark fudge, some berries. Really luscious oaty texture, lowish carbonation. Sweet fudge and mocha, strong singed flavours, some oily citrus. Bitter chocolate finish. Intense flavours for 6%. Assertive burnt and ashy flavours but enough sweetness and lovely smooth texture make it work for me.

head fizzles a bit as seems to be the way with oatmeal stouts. nice mixture of licorice, toast and some grass in aroma, but not overly aromatic. plenty of flavour - round and chocolatey and sweet at first and then quite hoppy and bitter - clashes with everything before - grapefruit hops and roast malts AGAIN... somebody stop brewers putting citric hops in stouts please.

Bottle at TimE’s place - Tokyo Tasting. Pitch black - offwhite head. Burned, lots of burned malts, light sweetness, licorice, coffee, ok hoppy, some bitterness - hops and burned malts, carcoal. Lovely.

Pitch black beer with a dark coffee head. Very smooth mouthfeel, with strong cacao / coffee flavours and lots of burnt caramel. A bitterness that balances the sweetness very well, like quality dark chocolate. Outstandingly drinkable for such a strong flavoured beer.

Quite tasty although not the best oatmeal stout that I have ever tasted. Probably wouldn’t get it again because I think there are better oatmeal stouts out there.

Awesome drinkability on this one. Smooth as you like, long lingering finish. Well put together and one of the better stouts out there.

Dark, tasty, oaty sweet, roasty. Aroma is good, roasty, some vanilla sweetness. Taste is good. Light bitterness. Very easy to drink.
