2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ron (1697) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 24, 2007
Poured dark brown with about no head on it. Toasted malt and carmel aroma. Roasted malt with some sweetness and nut flavor. It was good.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jb (1606) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 7, 2011
I tasted one called LIberty Broadway Brown at the Broadway at the Beach location. Brown, flat, orange tint. Nutty, unspectacular, and I can never come up with much to say about boring browns. Nutty covers it in 9/10 cases.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 roder60 (1244) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 18, 2005
Had draft at the brewpub’s bar in myrtle. Poured a nice dark brown color with a good amount of offwhite head that lasts. Aroma is nutty, caramely, and malty. Flavor is a bit thin, but has a bittersweet malty caramel base with nutty almond undertones. Overall, I found this to be my favorite of the 4 liberty brews i sampled.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 kujo9 (1085) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - JUL 23, 2004
Draft @ the Brew pub: Very little, thin light beige head on a coppery brown body. Malty and nutty aroma w/ some hints of roast and chocolate; very low fruitiness. Malty and ligtly roasty in the initial flavor; well balanced; some chocolate, very light fruitiness, aftertaste is malt flavored & chocolate as is the finish; some light sourness from dark grains and also starting to get the hints of metallic taste as it warms. Low carbonation, but very prickly; lighter medium body w/ a lightly dry m/f. Seems to be over carbonated like the rest, but more complex than the previous beers.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Foxbush (762) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2006
This was tasted during dinner on 7/6. The nut brown was disappointing compared to some of the other products. It was just plain dull. Nothing jumped out at you. It was a dark chocolate and had malt flavors but was jsut not special.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rogueone (506) - I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2009
Sampler @ Liberty: I’d say this is the most drinkable of the sampler pack next to the porter. Pours a deep amber color and at first, I could not tell the difference between the Pale Ale and the Nut Brown and neither could anyone else. A couple sips in, I started to get some nice lightly toasted malts coming through in the flavor. Not a standout but this did pair well with the pretzels they serve there.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 dirtyc (173) - Erie, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2006
A great dark ale, chocolate malt taste, very smooth and full bodied, would get this again for sure
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jetboy (32) - USA - JAN 5, 2008
Good, not great color. Aroma hints at chocolate malt. Appearance is good but not spectacular. Decent head with some lace. I expected more body but overall a good beer. I will drink more but can’t wait to try the porter sometime soon.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 boneyfiend (3) - Largo, Florida, USA - JUL 23, 2009 does not count
Way too light in body. This beer is made for rookie beer drinkers and tourists. It almost tasted watered down.
