A couple of samples from a growler at Foothills’ Sexual Chocolate pre-party. Pours hazy, like most wheat beers. Smallish head. Grainy, slightly tart and sour. Some oak and lemon. Not very sour, but pleasantly tart as a wheat beer.

Tasted at twin city taps. Ok beer sour in taste with hints of flowers and fruit.

Draught at Craft Heads.  Cloudy yellow - white head.  Nice citric sourness. Light wheaty. Grainy. Light tart. High dryness. High citric. Nice freshness.

I’ve had about 3-4 samples of this beer, from two or three different vintages each time at Foothills for the Sexual Chocolate release party. Although a bit disjointed and messy, this is as good a sour ale as I have ever had that was brewed in NC. Nice vinegar, wood, cherry skin notes without being overly acetic. Enjoyable. Look forward to drinking this every February.

Another sign that the NC scene is starting to funk it up. I dug this as much as David did, sneaking back to it regularly during Pre-Sex. It’s a strong cloudy pale gold, with a huge, youthful-seeming carbonation and soft lactic and tart notes in the nose. It reminded quite a bit of Telegraph’s Reserve sour wheat, and that is a fine thing. Delicious, pert, really invigorating actually.

Wow after multiple samples of this I must say I want more! Hazy gold pour with a fizzy white head and spotty lace. Aroma is grainy and tart. Flavor is sour and refreshing. Hints of lemon, vinegar, oak and grains SOLID STUFF!
