On tap at brewpub. Pours hazy burnt orange with off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit, caramel, some pine, and some bready malts. Flavors of pine, lots of bitter hops, some sweet caramel malts, grapefruit, a little bit of a bread note, and good amount of booze. Finishes sweet and boozy, but the amount of bitter hops saved this for me. Big IIPA. You have to like them big and boozy to really enjoy this. Best beer they had on tap by far.

On tap at the brewery. Forgot to take notes on the appearance, but there was nothing unusual about it. Aroma is peppery, herbal, and citrus hops, slightly reminiscent of chili pepper. Grapefruit, peppery, and floral hops with a moderate bitterness and sweetness. Juicy hops. Very nice.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2011 On tap: The aroma consists of moderate tropical fruit, oranges, and grapefruit. It’s a hazy dark amber with a small soapy off-white head. The flavor starts with moderate tropical fruits and citrus notes. The finish has moderate grapefruit hops and touch of alcohol. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, I’ve always like Liberty Street’s IPA/IIAPs, and this is another great one. A dangerously drinkable IIPA.
