On tap: The aroma consists of caramel, butterscotch, rye, and citrus. Itís a hazy brownish-orange with a small off-white soapy film for a head. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and a touch of butterscotch. The finish is heavy on the rye along with some citrus hops and a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Iíve had this before without rating, and instantly thought this was an amped up version of what I tried previously. Whatís on tap now is 7.5%. The difference is noticeable as I get much more eye and a touch if alcohol. Overall, a little too heavy on the rye for my preferences.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear red amber with a near white head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced. Aroma had a light pine note accompanied by a slight citrus note but had quite a strong grain backing. Flavor was similar with a strong grain note with a backing pine note and just a hint of citrus. I wish the rye would have come through more.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours extremely hazy orange gold with a small white head. Aroma is of spicy hops and a bit of citrus. Flavor combination turns out something very much like a Belgian yeast strain, with a strong clove sensation on top of the spicy and citrusy hops and some very toasty biscuits. Unexpected but very nice flavors.

2009 MiBGWF: Hazy amber with a great lasting white frothy head and excellent lacing, that is a good sign!!! The nose is RYE BABY!!! Woo Hoo!!! There is also resiny and grassy vapours, some biscuity malts and a hint of mineral water. The taste has an excellent balance of fruity and snappy hops, complimentary malts and solid rye presence, The finish has a bit of a chalky vitamin note however. The mouth feel is lively and aggressive, very refreshing. This was very good and a good start from this new brewery.

Draft sample at MBG Winterfest 2009. Poured hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate rye and citrus aroma. Medium body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sour bitter finish of moderate duration. Met my expectations with a good start and soft finish.
