COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Get those images of Godzilla and Mothra out of your head! I know you were thing it, but this beer has nothing to do with Japan whatsoever. Yakima is actually a region in the state of Washington USA where some of Joseph Wood’s favorite hops are grown. This monster of a Pale Ale showcases several of those hops. "It’s a easy drinking beer, flavorsome enough for your father ’n law to exclaim "wow - that’s fruity!" yet complex enough for any green blooded hop-head to appreciate." - Joseph Wood, Liberty Brewer. Gold medal 2012 Brew NZ Awards

L’exemple même qu’une biere "easy to drink" peut etre goutue! Une belle robe, un arome fruité, une magnifique mousse et un parfait equilibre de fruit, d’agrume et de malt en bouche! Un bon point bonus pour son etiquette!

500ml bottle pours a yellow amber color with a bit of head. Nice mellow hop profile. Easy going.

500ml bottle. Pours yellow with hints of orange and a huge foamy head. Grassy nose, intense. Good balance between malts and hops, although as a pale ale a bit less intense than I would wish it to be. Still a good demonstration of the hops of Yakima.

Aroma of grapefruit and pine. My sample is nearing the end of its code date so the aroma is slightly diminished from what I remember but still makes a good showing. Taste is pine, resin, and grapefruit juice and rind. Strong bitterness leaves malt up against the ropes. Golden color with white head. Medium body with sticky, resinous finish. Wonderfull even in advanced age.

Pale copper body with a nice thick, creamy head. Citrus hops aroma, strong scents of pineapple and guava coming through. The sweet aroma doesn’t quite translate to the flavour with bitter pine and grassy notes being the main event here. The bitterness isn’t over the top and the brew is incredibly easy to drink, still staunch enough to be a noble ipa though. Beer is thick up front but loses its heavy texture quickly, perfectly carbonated though - which helps.

Big hop aroma up front, pine dominating, pours golden orange with thin white head. Lacing. Strong lasting bitterness, good though, caramel malt to pull it all together. An approachable monster

Bottle - Conflicted much! After a couple of other APA (from Tuatara) this was a shock in a couple of ways. Less IBU but then the bitterness was through and through and all of the profile. Much lighter than the recent APA I had too, So much adjustment. However this was all in all a nicely delivered and steady and predictable beer. I though may have needed a food to make it a beer to have more than one of, but then, as you drink more it just settles and becomes that much nicer. (I’ve had this on tap too, and I liked it then, just as much)

Tap. Pours a dark orange colour with a thin white head, aroma is fruity and floral, taste is bitter with a fruity finish.
