COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Get those images of Godzilla and Mothra out of your head! I know you were thing it, but this beer has nothing to do with Japan whatsoever. Yakima is actually a region in the state of Washington USA where some of Joseph Wood’s favorite hops are grown. This monster of a Pale Ale showcases several of those hops. "It’s a easy drinking beer, flavorsome enough for your father ’n law to exclaim "wow - that’s fruity!" yet complex enough for any green blooded hop-head to appreciate." - Joseph Wood, Liberty Brewer. Strong herbal malty aroma - good herbal/resiny hop thrust in the mouth with herbal/fruity aftertaste - well balanced with biscuity malt - lovely bitterness - the more I sip the more I like it - very good NZPA, near to outstanding - would be if it was more fruit driven - definitely an enjoyable drink.

Crisp yet sweet and fun to drink a real monster NZ APA. Classic yet malt and very well balanced.

On tap at 16 Tun. Aroma is all sweet pine. Taste has pine, some tropical mango and, dare I say it, some anchovy-esque savouriness.

On tap. Pours a nice amber. Pleasant aroma. Medium to full body, not so crispy and a bit too bitter. Nice fruity flavours, passionfruit, banana, hints of berries. Overall a very pleasant ale.

Stellar beer. Aromas of lemon peel, orange peel, grapefruit, passionfruit, kiwi and faint banana. The flavour is an equally stunning bouquet with no overbearing bitterness. Great beverage ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[8196-20160507] 500mL bottle. Mild wet wort and toasted grains aroma. Clear, orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head and some lacing. Bitter orange and grainy resin flavour. Medium-full body. Big and bold, a little rough. (7/4/7/4/15) 3.7

2016-05-07. Lightly hazy dark yellow body, nice creamy beige head. 3+ Aroma is mild, lightly doughy malt, sweet orange and citrus peel. Flavour is moderately bitter throughout. Mild Muddled but pleasant citrus melange. Minerally lemon-lime character grows in the aftertaste as it warms. Average to light bodied palate, moderate carbonation. 3+ Enjoyable, but less assertive hop profile than my preference. 7/3-4/7/3/14-16 Bottle from Glengarry Wines, Auckland, NZ.

500mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and light citrusy and piney hops, seems a bit faded in the hops. Flavour is clean, with light pine and citrusy hops, with a wet biscuity malt backbone. Clean and well-balanced. Doesn’t seem as fresh as possible, but it’s quite good.

Poured from a stubbie. Pours a delightful gold with some cloudyness, and a light fluffy head that hangs around for most of the drinking. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit and simcoe (?) hops. Taste changes considerably as it warms. Light and fruity when cold, bitter pine dominates as it warms, with some bready malt in there too. Sessionable for an APA, but still complex and enough to keep most hop-heads happy.

tombutlin (220) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - APR 23, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2016 Right in the zone for an APA. Resin dominates, with a little fruitiness thrown in. Great bitterness and balance. Only 6% so is surprisingly sessionable

BOTTLE. Poured see through gold with thin white head that disappeared quickly.. Fruity nose, lemongrass & subtle citrus notes.. Big mix in the taste, hop flower, solid malt texture, going to more fruit hops that leaves a solid resin mouth feel.. Sourced Cape Cellars
