Solid hoppy ale. Very resinous and quite bitter. A little sweetness goes well. Loads and loads of grapefruit and citrus. Good without being amazing

Bottle from BlackHearts&Sparrows. Great balance. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit, and strawberries. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and very long length. Palate is creamy and full bodied. Brown with a frothy head.

It was difficult to know where to pigeonhole this beer as it was dark, but not as dark as a porter. It was strong, but not Imperial. It was hoppy, and too hoppy to be a Scotch Ale. I hope the classification suits. Aromas of the classic Pacific Northwest hops. spruce and citrus, along with long resinous bitterness. The beer was served too cold to truly so it justice, but I would estimate this beer would be felt in the mouth for a good half an hour after the liquid had disappeared.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep copper, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Resin, grapefruit and herbal hops notes sit over a base of toffee and nutty malt to create the aroma. Strong grapefruit and resin hops up front are tempered by mild berry notes. The resin becomes stronger leading into the mid-palate, where it mixes with toffee and buttered toast malt. Strong grapefruit and mild herbal hops in the finish give it a nice bitter kick at the end. This is a very enjoyable red ale, with a strong hops thread running through it.

From a 500ml bottle on 25/9/2013. Pours a slightly cloudy reddy amber with a medium head which dissipates quickly. The aroma features lots of fruity hops and heaps of toffee. The flavour is quite unusual with caramel and toffee malt, sweet dark and citrus fruit, some nuttiness, a bit of honey, and a firm bitterness with a bit of grapefruit in the mix. The body is quite full, with the texture quite slick, and the carbonation moderate. I wasnít entirely convinced by this at the start, but it won me over by the finish. Very nice stuff.

Pours a lovely brick red colour and has a generous hoppy nose. On the palate quite soft and the bitterness is tempered by the malts. Have to admit I was a little disappointed by this beer as upfront the flavours are muted and a little thin.

Deep clear copper. Aroma is of sweet malt and hops. Flavour is sweet fruity hops some bitterness but not huge which is nice I donít like it when the beer is overly syrupy and sweet.
