2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, USA - JUL 4, 2006
Hazy golden color, with a sour funky nose. Flavor is big cereal malt toastiness, with some inherent yeastiness, light banana and clove, with some bubblegum and wheatgrass sourness. Overall, there is just not enough oopmh there, not overly watery as in previous ratings but just too light I guess. All the flavor components are there, just need to tweak the recipes a bit.

Draft at the brewpub, 9/29/07; Nose of banana esters and grain; cloudy yellow-orange with a small offwhite head; flavor is hoppy bitterness and fruity esters. OK brew!

on tap-pours a white head and slightly hazy yellow color. Aroma is candy, faint wheat. Taste is musty. OK effervescence.

The brewer suggests serving lemon with this beer . . . . That would be wrong as it has a lemony, grassy character of its own. A wimpy wheat beer. Not much of anything desireable here.

Draught. Pours gold with a rocky white film and spotty lacing. Wheat, overwhelming amount, with bananas and clove with a yeast (dough) nose. Sour wheat malt (straw) and sweaty yeast flavor. Light bodied and refreshing.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Aubrey (3193) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - SEP 8, 2004
Golden-orange with a slight haze and some floaties; thinnish head. Light and refreshing mouthfeel with a lively carbonation, but it seemed watery at times. Very light malts with just a mild, honey-like sweetness. Flowery hops. Mild bitterness. Dryish finish. Pretty much what I expected -- and usually find -- with an "American Wheat."
