Golden color, hazy, big white head, nose of clove and banana and citrus, flavors are sweet, notes of bread, yeast, banana and citrus, lots of fruit. Quite enjoyable.

04-Apr-07 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 04-Oct-06 for $1.89 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) As I pour the beer into my beautiful, half-liter Hefeweizen glass, the extroverted aromas of yeasty bread and banana rise from the glass to greet me, imploring me to take a quick sip. Alas, I politely refuse their plea because the voluminous, stiff, white head is far too thick, towering a good inch above the rim without succumbing to gravity and spilling down the side. Under the foam, a few widely spaced bubbles rise through the dark-golden and very hazy (but not cloudy) beer. Unfortunately, the head continues to shrink, eventually fading to a thin ring. There isn’t much more to the nose than the initial blast of bread and banana -- no clove and only a hint of bubble gum. A quick sip and it’s evident that this flavorful hefeweizen is a bit sweeter than most. The attack of sweet banana is eventually balanced by strong yeast and bread before fading off the palate, leaving a very bready but still very sweet finish. The beer is medium in body, but the sweetness contributes a stickiness that could be deceivingly perceived as full body. Carbonation is medium, but because the beer sloshes around inside my tall Hefe glass with each sip, the bubbly liveliness settles down fairly quickly. Overall, the beer could be a little less sweet and perhaps a bit more spicy and multi-dimensional, but it’s enjoyable all the same.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, but there could be a little bit more foam. Starts a little bit fruity. The finish is dry and not fruity enough. Only an average hefeweizen!

Pours a hazy light brown with a large cream colored head. Aroma is malted wheat, bananas and bubble gum. Taste is malty with a big bubble gum spice flavor. Not a bad brew at all.

Golden with lingering white head. Aroma of grains, banana, Cheerios. Flavor includes grains, bread, caramel, orange zest, lemongrass. Tried back to back with Erdinger Crystal Weiss and I found the Erdinger easier to drink, though both are relatively light.
