Medium creamy dense offwhite head. Slightly hazy deep amber body with strong carbonation. Mealy strawy aroma with herbal dusty notes. Dry-sweetish dusty strawy grainy taste with spicy earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish-dusty strawy aftertaste with earthy grainy notes. Nice, vivid, but not very exciting. (0.3l draft at Alus Setas, Riga.)
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ectuohy27 (376) - ESTONIA - APR 10, 2013
Pretty decent, oily, root-beer-y Vienna, true enough to style (if heavily featuring that yeasty taste that seems to be the trademark of everything in Latvia). Hops low enough to form, but too light and not enough caramel/treacle notes for style points

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 17, 2011
On keg at Lido in Riga. Pours a golden colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of caramel, yeast and biscuity malt. Similar flavours with a grassy hop linger. Moderate carbonation with a foamy mouth-feel and a little CO2 prickle. Not bad.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BeerSkull (902) - SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2011
Draught (Staburags, Riga). Scent of tangy butterscotch. Malt flavor with obvious hints of caramel and butterscotch. This beer is really not good! On the verge of undrinkable!

0.5L pour at LIDO. Amber golden pour with a little bit of white head. The aroma is a little bit sweet and slightly fruity. There is a touch of DMS along with some light malt sweetness. A light floral character but muted. It’s okay though. It’s no cask bitter, that’s for sure.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2012
Re-rate, draught at Lido, Riga. Hazy amber, small head. Sweet and doughy. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Bread and some syrup. Light malt bitterness.
Draught at Lido, Tallinn, Estonia. Cloudy deep golden, creamy head. Mild citric nose. Sweetish with light-medium body and fairly clean mouthfeel. Some caramel. A little sourish and lacking in depth. Resiny bitterness. Off shape, if it hadn’t been poured at one of Lido’s own establishments I wouldn’t have rated it ,now it’s been in their control all the way to my glass. (4/5/4/2/8=2.3)
