COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Natürlich in Bio-Qualität! Erhältlich in der 0,5l-Flasche.

Black appearance, with a tan medium foamy head. Nose of roasted malt, licorice, smoked cheese. Tastes of bread, with a little grassy bitterness. Quite anonymous and watery, though still nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bartlebier (1978) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - FEB 25, 2013
50cl fliptop bottle - Did not expect too much from this unusual import beer from NRW, given it was purchased out of sheer curiosity at the Reformhaus and Schwarzbier tends to be the most boring of traditional German styles. Pours a standard dark brown-black, rather flat with little head. Pleasantly surprised: is brimming with aromatic malts, adding a sweet lemonade fruitiness and with good fresh hop aromas. Slight roasted and coffee notes make this verge towards a porter with a very light mouthfeel. All in all a maybe haphazardly unconventional, but highly drinkable and fresh take on the dull Schwarzbier style.

330ml bottle. Clear dark brown colour with average, frothy, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma with a minimal spicy and grassy touch. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, hints of coffee, in the finish minimally metallic.

brugmanneke (278) - GERMANY - JUL 30, 2012
(50 cl swingtop-bottle) Dark brown, almost black, with a brown head. Unfiltered, therefore hazy, nearly opaque. Aroma of caramel/toffee, nuts, coffee, roasted malts, and a touch of juicy grass. Lactose sweetness, moderate bitterness. Light-bodied. A decent and drinkable and better-than-average example of a style which is clearly not among my favourites.

rosenbergh (7409) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2012
500 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de. Colour is black as my soul. Small tan head. Very roasted malt, mild lactose sweetness, nuts and mild coffee in aroma. Flavour is slightly more mildly roasted but still quite dark. Mild sweetness and mild chocolate. This Schwarzbier is rather close to Stout. Watery though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Dark reddish brown color. Aromas of dark bread. Flavors of dark bread Simple fresh aroma and flavor, like a crust of dark rye bread.
