3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2004 Vintage. 33 cl. bottle @ Kulminator. Pours very dark brown with ufo’s with a creamy beige head. Nose clearly reveals age, very heavy oxidation but the oxidation seems to have progressed in a good way, smells like liquorish, dark fruits, wine-notes and light chocolate but still think heavy oxidation. Taste reveals a beer that has aged well – probably too long – but simply was not a very good beer to begin with so it is an interesting one. Heavy oxidation notes, almost falling apart, dusty chocolate milk is prominent, nuts, wine notes, fading malts, sweet spices, candy sugar & liquorish. Body is light, close to but not watery. According to the menu this was the last year for this beer – no ratings prior to 2005 on here. So this may be from the brewery which made it before Riva. Same hideous nun depicted on the label.

Bottle at tasting, thanks for sharing dEnk! Hazy brown pour with a very small head and a lot of floaties. Aroma of fruits, sugar and a tiny hint of licorice. Flavor is watery, too sweet, a hint of sourness, some anise. Very low carbonation, watery texture.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: Minimalist sweet fruity Belgian dark ale
How: Bottle 330ml, about 1 year old
The look: A very small tan head over a clear dark mahogany with a lot of big chunks.
In long: Shy nose of dark jelly bean. Taste is sweet, liquorice candy, dark fruits concentrate, somewhat sweet, no hops presence. Moughtfeel of a soda-pop with chunks of yeast. Minimalist taste. More boring than offensive which is a slight improvement over some of their other products. Abdispensable.
