Bottle: Poured a hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is dark fruit almost berry with a sourish mix in there. The taste is a sweet caramel malt, but has this twisted sour fruit bite to it.

Very full aroma, chocolate and something sour, yeast. Beige head, beautiful red brown body. Vanmille flavour right before swallowing, very milky. Good and balanced.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 330ml bottle (Belgianshop) BB:Mar08
Dark brown, small tan head. Milky sweet and slightly sour aroma. Dark berries too. Soft carbonation. Taste also quite creamy, and slightly burnt, with a rich dark caramel component. Pretty full bodied, but very mellow. Hides the 6.5% very well. Looking forward to having this again.
Rerate: BB2008/03, drunk 2011/07 (6:2:7:3:13=3.1)
Poured like diarrhea. Very toffee-ey. A bit thinner than before. A bit more of a bitter bite as the thinness lets the hops show a bit more. As this is well past its BB, Iíll not drop the rating.

Bottle. Reddish brwn with a nice beige head. Not much to offer in the aroma department. Sweet malt, caramel, molasses, yeast - all the expected stuff youíd usually find in a dubbel. Also a little anethole. Nothing bad about it; itís just too vague and lacks character. Flavour is exactly the same, but Iíll give it a notch up from aroma because I happen to enjoy sweet malty beverages once in a while.

Dark brown with a red hue and a nice head. The aroma is malty and hoppy and the flavour is sweetish with notes of malt, caramel, hops and a nice bitterness. Itís a bit thin and ordinary. 1702

ha1ag (863) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - NOV 20, 2007
bottled at Take One in Maastricht. Clear deep ruby red with quickly diminsihing thick head, without lacing. Strange random patern in head. Redberry sweetish mouthfeel . Grassy and fruity aroma, but not bitter. Maybe overfiltered?

ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 14, 2007
Bottled. Clear amber with a small but lasting white foam. Nuts, caramel and weak notes of estery fruit. Clean flavour of caramel, nuts and dried fruit. Light-bodied for the style. Sugary finsih with notes of caramel. Decent but felt a bit stale and indistrual.
