UPDATED: JAN 31, 2007 Draught at Brugs Beertje. Brown coloured. Sweet and fruity flavour with yeasty notes. Malty yeasty and fruity aroma with notes of liquorice. Rather bland. Same rating goes for the bottled version.

Nice looking brown beer with slight reddisch shine and fluffy creamy froth. Aroma is smooth and sweet with hints of graprjuse, and some soft spices. The taste is well ballanced, slight sweet and has touches of candi sugar, crème de marron, and hints of grapes. Not the most complex beer but a nice commercial one with a good ballanced taste.

Not so good as expected, well, it has an ok malt, but its a bit thin fore an abbey dubbel. Brown colour, off-white head.

Bottled. Very dark reddish amber colour with small white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and some roasted malts. A bit hops and plum/raisins in it too. Flavour is raisins/plum (that’s passed it’s prime), along with hops and grass. Unbalanced brew.

(Bottled) Nice dark red color with almost no head. Sweetish, malty aroma with lots of dried fruit. Slightly sour, bitter and acidic, roasted-malty, dried-fruity flavor with a mildly ashy finish. Medium-bodied, sweet-sugary palate with some alcohol burn and not much carbonation. Too sweet to be enjoyable, too sour-ashy to be easy or refreshing. Who is this aimed for??

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Moderate malty and slightly hoppy aroma. OK but thin flavor. Oily palate. Not the best abbey dubbel.

Dark brown coloured, average light off white head. Rather sweet malty aroma, little caramel like, very smouth. Medium to full body, nicely balanced. Finish is little more bitter, but with some clear sweet-caramel touches. Quiet a good dobbel beer.

Bottle. A sweet brune, along the lines of Leffe, which isn’t a good start. Brown sugar, caramel, yeasty. Quite sweet and a little sticky. Very broing.
