(Bottled) Nice dark red color with almost no head. Sweetish, malty aroma with lots of dried fruit. Slightly sour, bitter and acidic, roasted-malty, dried-fruity flavor with a mildly ashy finish. Medium-bodied, sweet-sugary palate with some alcohol burn and not much carbonation. Too sweet to be enjoyable, too sour-ashy to be easy or refreshing. Who is this aimed for??

Bottle. Brown pour, small head, large flocks of yeast. Aroma is winey, caramel and fruits, seems past it’s due date. Flavour is sweet, sugary, caramel and some fruit. Very poor, seems past it’s due date.

In short: Minimalist sweet fruity Belgian dark ale
How: Bottle 330ml, about 1 year old
The look: A very small tan head over a clear dark mahogany with a lot of big chunks.
In long: Shy nose of dark jelly bean. Taste is sweet, liquorice candy, dark fruits concentrate, somewhat sweet, no hops presence. Moughtfeel of a soda-pop with chunks of yeast. Minimalist taste. More boring than offensive which is a slight improvement over some of their other products. Abdispensable.

Bottle bb Mar 2008, courtesy of and shared with heavy (thanks!)
Lovely red-brown body with a medium sized off-white head. Pleasant malty and spicy nose, just a little dusty and sourish. Very, very light malty taste, slightly sweetish. Caramel and some weak weak spice and. Ok nuff, not offensive but needs more taste.
