cloudy dark amber-orange colour, fine and persistant beige head leaving a nice lacing; fruity aroma (apple, mango) with some yeasty notes; astringant and a bit acidic, medium-bodied, some sweetness soon hidden by a long dry bitter finish where fruity and salty notes appear

#401... 0.33 l bottle from belgianshop.com. This turquoise nun poured murky orange to golden body with big white head. Orange aroma, pretty sharp, spiced with cinnamon and some honey. It’s yeasty, just like in the flavor, which is hanging between sour and bitter all the time. Orange peel, bit of lemon, some mild spices are components of its full body. Alcohol is very well hidden. Sharp and strong finish. Although it have many school characteristics of the style, it’s not so typical, as it’s quite sharp with its sourness and bitterness, so many won’t like it. It’s more than fine for me so I’m happy to choose 3 Abdis to note my 400th rating.

(Bottle) Pours a clear golden amber body with a thick off-white head. Aroma of mustiness, light lemon, mango, some funkiness, and caramel. Flavor of sour fruit, spicy yeast, grassy hops, and caramel. This one was a surprise!

Bottled sample via lubiere. Dark gold in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of pale malts, orange marmalade, yeast, apricot candy, a hint of caramel and a bit of rust on the back end. Firm pilsner malts upfront in the mouth, followed up by some strong stewed berry and stone fruits. The finish is crisp with a minerally bitterness. Medium bodied for a tripel, which is still fairly light. A bit long in the tooth, but still drinking fairly well.

Has a soft taste for a triple, alcohol is well hidden. It’s not really a beer that stands out in the spectrum of abbybeers. It’s a disgrace how low this beer is rated; this is a very good brew dispite the fact that it’s not one of epic proportions.

Bottle at Kulminator. Hazy, deep golden colour with a big offwhite head. Spicy yeastiness with some sweet fruit. Good yeasty flavours, great fruit, spices provide some dryness though sweet flavours dominate. Good carbonation. A good new tripel.
