Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

Bottle from Tanakaya. 2015 bottle in a flashy new updated design without the paper. Pours a deep crimson with a nice pink head that lasts throughout. Aromas of cherry, cranberry, almond with some woody and grassy notes as well. Very nice active carbonation. Taste is more of the same with some light tartness. A Belgian classic who’s tartness isn’t in your face and is balanced with a fair amount of sweetness. A good introduction to Belgian sours, although not really sour to be honest.

Cherry oaky woody dark fruit aroma. Taste is the same. Has some lactic sour but it is mild. Maybe 2 of 10 sour. Has a dark fruit woodyness that is slightly sweet that dominates the sour. Could use more sweet sour balance a bit too much in the sweet side. But it is a nice complex flavorful Belgian sour.  Like a goudenband base with cherry.  ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. Poured a vibrant red color with a small pink, foamy head. Aroma was a blast of cherries, some tartness. Cherry skins, light tart, but not really sour character comes through. Lots of sweetness in this one.

From Bertaux Frères. Assez savoureux
