COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

Dark red/brown colour, white foam. Sweet aroma of cherries, some vinegar, brown sugar and candy. Sweet/sour taste, very light bitterness. Should be very good if this wasn’t too sweet.

One of the more cherry forward beers I’ve had and definitely more sweet than sour. I think more of a fruit lambic beer with a hint of sour than a sour red/brown like the style listed here suggests. I liked the flavor of it but just not looking for a sweet Starburst cherry flavor in beer so I’d probably pass on this if I see it again.
