COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

Sweet, tart, glacé cherry aroma with a clean acidity and an extremely subtle light grain note.

Beautiful deep ruby red with a pink-hue head with extremely good lacing and persistence at the right level.

The flavour is bold with cherries and sweet but balanced by the refreshing acidity. There are subtle grain notes and a deeper complexity to the beer with gentle woody and light almond flavours.

Perfect level of carbonation, fairly high and fine with a substantial substance without detracting from the beer’s refreshingness.

One of my favourite fruit beers. So refreshing whether cold or not so cold and excitingly complex and yet not at all heavy or too much. Fantastic.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2016 Pours dark copper, clear, with unstable pinky foamy head. Visually medium carbonation. Aroma: cheery syrup, tart cherries, hint of grape, wood, vanilla. Flavor: intense fruity, with notes of cheery syrup, cherries, invert sugar, grape, hint of vanilla...palate: firstly fruity sweet, slughtly sugary, then steps forward gentle tartnes, which lingers in dry finish. Body is moderate medium, texture is soft, carbonation is medium.

Bottle from Alcostock in Tallinn (€ 2.79). 2015 bottle. Pours ruby red with a slight coppery hue, the head’s pinkish-beigeish white, retains well and laces well, too. The aroma is sooooo good... sweetish sour cherries... and what more do you want, that’s it. Tastes very (sugar powder?) sweet upfront, with the acidic tartness gradually building up. Creamy soft mouthfeel, somewhat sticky, albeit with an abrupt, blandish finish. Otherwise absolutely excellent. I love Krieks like this. I wish we had more such options here in Estonia.

Reddish in color with a fizzy head. Slightly sour and sweet at the same time. Kind of like a sour cherry juice with fermentation.

Red brown cherry coloured beer. Percect balance between sourness and sweetness. Nice smell of cherry’s. Kriek is not my favourite kind of style, but this is different because of lack of extreme sweetness.

Almost clear dark cherry red beer. Decent and vibrantly pink head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Rich sweet and sour cherry. Maraschino cherry - zippy. Seltzer. Light finish. Cherry zip lingers on. A little one note but that note is a great one.
