COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

Pours dark red with nice pink head. Aroma can enchant every non-beer person. Just can’t taste, because you want scent more and more. It has elements from old basement to totally sweetness. In taste there has some cherry, mango, apple sourness in the beginning and afterwards hops come out. Little bit too much carbo, otherwise very good beer!

A cherry beer, that is a little bit too sweet, as I like this type of beers a bit more sour.

Another MJ beer that has disappeared from my ratings over the years not sure what has happened here. Enjoyable and what Unibroue’s Quelque Chose was patterned after.

Bottle. Pours a thin, beige head of short duration and a dark red body, light and medium carbonation. Aroma of cherries and cherry syrup with a hint of vinegar and sourness. Taste is sweet & sour following the aroma with a light tartness. Too sweet for my taste.

Overraskende god smag. Meget speciel. Jeg troede denne øl var meget sød - men nej, tværtimod sur.

Bottle. Lots of raspberries obviously, but enhanced with notes of redcurrant, balsamic vinegar and wood. Initially sweet but after a few sips the tartness starts firmly occupying the throat, providing the necessary balance. My bottle was cellared for a couple of years, resulting in a flawless flavour integrity. Excellent stuff.
