This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

Sample from a 33cl bottle (26 IX 2015), shared with De Meetjeslandse Bierproevers. This sour ale has a mixed orange red brown colour with a floffy white foam on top. Slick looking, and with a nice aroma too. The hop flavours make me think of raisins. There is some chewing gum in there too. This already hints at the medium sweet taste. The bitterness is subtle, and the sourness is light too - which is rather surprising. The texture however stays sticky, with soft carbonation and a short finish. Making the brew a bit disappointing. A good start, a somewhat weak ending.

From a 75 cl bottle it is a red raspberry color with a pinkish head. The aroma is sour raspberries. The taste is on the sweet side of raspberries that resonates on the palate

Tasty. Not as red as a lot of cherry beers. The flavor isn’t real heavy on the cherry but also not overly funky. Combined it makes for a tasty beverage.

Piana jasno różowa, drobna i sycząca, błyskawicznie opada do firanki. Barwa ciemno czerwona, raczej klarowna. Aromat kwaśny, wyraźnie wiśniowy z nutą dębowej beczki. W smaku pół kwaśne, pół słodkie, znów wiśnie na pierwszym planie, choć przypomina to blend kompotu wiśniowego z domowym winem z wiśni. Goryczka niska, pestkowa. Nagazowanie średnie do wysokiego, drobne, musujące na języku. Smaczny, owocowy trunek, choć wielka szkoda, że dosładzany.
