Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

375ml bottle. Pours a clean, dark rubyith a thin, bubbly white head. Aroma had big notes of tart cherries and not much else. Exactly what I expected. Taste is slightly sweet to start then quickly moves to a tart cherry, then back to a semi sweet cherry aftertaste. Medium body with a medium high carbonation. Slightly syrupy in the mouth but not super sweet. Overall tasty. Lots of tart cherry flavour with just enough sweetness to make it not sour. Would get again.

375 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a rubyish brown with modest-sized pink-tinged, light tan head. Aroma is full of ripe, slightly sour cherries, gentle woodiness and sweet grains. Flavour is juicy, dark cherry with mellow sourness, some other sweet fruitiness, light grains and a subtle woody note. Average body; carbonation on the mellower side. Easy to drink. Pleasant.

Pours cherry sunburst with a soda pop style pink cap that fades quickly. My second Liefmans purchase on this ratebeer.com road & once again I’m pleased. Tastes of dark cherries, old school fountain soda & a pleasing sourness. Finish is brisker than a morning after kiss. Colour me sour cherry & describe me as pleased. This works both as a groovy drink & as a palate cleanser.

2014/03/25 - Pours a dark red-mahogany colour with a small, fizzy, light pink head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is cherries, wood, sweet grains and mild funk. Taste is rather sweet moderately sour. Notes of sour cherries, vanilla, lemon, tobacco, toffee and very mild funk. Mouthfeel is medium and sticky with high, crisp carbonation and a sweet, drying finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the :LCBO. Pours a very deep red with a small lavender head that quickly fades. Aroma is wood, sweet grains a a background of cherries. Taste is dominated much more than the nose by the sour cherries with notes of vanilla and toffee. Medium full oily mouth with soft carbonation. Long tart finish is excellent.

Bright shining clear bit yeast hazy mahagony colour, no CO2 and a lightly red shimmering fine, fading head. Noses of black tea, sweet wood, tobacco, cherries, sweetened red currant, touch of leather and vanilla. Light lively, sweet honey notes with a sour development. Long lasting, medium bodied, light dry, sweet, slender but full mouthed body. Good finish.

This beautiful belgian beer has a reddish brown colour and a very light pink head. It smells of cherries and tastes like it, although with a very light oak-ish flavor and a little bit of the alcohol. All of this in a fizzy, light body which leaves a dry, somewhat sugary aftertaste.
