Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

It pours ruby with slight brownish tints; the head is salmon coloured and foamy. The aroma has notes of: sour cherries, barnyard funk, and sweet grains. The taste is medium-high sweet with a medium light sour; there are notes of: vanilla, sour cherries, lemon-juice, and toffee. The palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, slightly sticky, and has a medium finish. Overall, very tasty - not complex.

This beer pours with a nice medium tan/red head and it has a very dark red, dark cherry color. It smells of cherries and sour ale. The taste has notes of sour cherry with vinegar. There is a nice sweetness that cuts through at the end of the sourness and makes this beer very palatable. Overall very surprised at this beer as my girlfriend picked it out at the store and wanted to try it. She does not like beer at all and loved this one. Good beer B+......

Reddish brown pour, pinkish white head. Aromas of cherries and sourness. Taste is light sweet, with a nice sourness on the back end. Palate is light bodied, fizzy carbonation, and dry finish. Overall, this is one good beer. The sourness and tartness are a perfect blend with the malts. Cherries are an accent and not the main part of the beer. The tart cherries blend well with the malt to create a nice ale.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2006 37.5 cl. bottle, nicely wrapped in red and white paper. Corked and caged. Best before January 2014... Cork stamped February ’04. Served in Duvel tulip. Beautiful brownish red. Nice, pinkish head. Impressive, slightly tart cherry aroma. Gorgeously full, and very ’natural’ cherry taste. Clearly the genuine article (as should be the case when the brewery adds 13 kg. cherries per 100 liters). Slight sweetness on top of solid, pleasantly sour base. Nicely balanced. Pleasant, full mouthfeel. A highly impressive kriek.

Sweet and tart alchol, heavy on the cherries. Poured darker than I had expected. Heavier on the booze than Lindemans lambics and not very carbonated. I really enjoyed it. A quality lambic.

Pours a reddish brown with a light almost pink head. The aroma contains lots of fruity esters including dark fruits, primarily cherries. Not only does it smell like a cherry lollipop, but taste like one too. Also get lots of plum. It is not as sweet and tart as many sours, as it is well balanced with malt. The body is medium with medium carbonation and a sweet tart finish.

Dégusté avec french tickler le 27 décembre 2006. Drank in a trappist glass. Dark red / pink poor with llittle or no head. Aromas of cherries, cherry bushes, acid, sour, pink champagne... EXPLOSION of flavors... This beer hits you on every possible taste buds. Flavors of obvious cherries, cask wood. Extremely well balanced, oily and creamy at the same time. Nice sweet and bitter finish....
