COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2010 Botlle, 37,5 cl. Beatifull deep red beer with a little light pink head. Smells like cherries, mixed with some sourness. Natural aroma anyway. Taste is as good as it’s simple: natural sour cherries mixed with some sourness, and some tannines included. With a very good pallet as a result! Less is more, certainly with this beer. Update 03/07: on tap @ Poatersgat the taste started sweet before the dry taste and the tannines came to the foreground. I didn’t realize I rated this beer already, but my opinion in score stays the same: less is more, and there has been chosen for a good mix in the pallet.

Burgandy colour with medium head. Aroma is sweet with heavy cherry, pleasant but with little complexity. Big cherry flavour immediately but the dry finish should be more assertive to make this a bit more accomplished. Still fairly decent.

Red, minimal head. Lacing. Acidic, cherry, orgeat, wood, syrupy/sticky. Fizzy. Sweet.

1994 375ml. Pour is deep ruby red with no head. Aromas of cherries and cough syrup. Flavor is much of the same. I think this was way past its prime. Drinkable but not enjoyable.

Big, lovely cherry & yeast smell (as you'd expect). Sweet tasting start till your draw air across your tongue then you get slapped on the mouth by equally big tartness. Like a light, effervescent cherry wine - this is a delightful beverage. Rated by BrewTom

Pours a rudy color with a thin but decent laced head. Flavor is tart, but with a lingering sweetness. Full-bodied, but not the cherry aspect isn’t overwhelming, it’s more subtle. Great beer, but at $6 cdn a bottle, a bit pricey.

âcida i refrescant i amb un final lleugerament dolç. En nas hi noto més mora que cirera. Molt bona.

Bottle. Pours deep red, head disappears quickly. Aroma is cherry / vinegary. The taste is a nice cherry both sweet and tangy. Thought this wouldn’t be very nice, but was very wrong.

On tap at North Bar, Leeds. Nice deep reddish copper colour, virtually no head. Tart cherries and berries in the odour, with lambic-style funkiness as well. Taste is very interesting - sweet cherries towards the start, giving way to a really nice refreshing tartness on the way out. Carbonation is nice, too. Sweet giving way to sour is very nice indeed - this seems like a nicely accomplished fruit beer.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2004 Smells like fine wine. Tastes a little wine like as well. All in all very good but I wish the cherries used were the sweet rather than sour. It has a tart almost cranberry like taste. I have to agree it is very refreshing and light with comlex flavoring. If you like wine this may become a fave. For me I think it is excellent but lindemans is notably better
