Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

Pours a blood red with a delicious aroma of cherries and a mild tartness. The flavor is soft in the beginning, building up momentum to a bubbly and light sour cherry flavor, followed by an assertive sour aftertaste which can take you by surprise. Excellent, though a bit pricey

I’m usually not a Kriek-drinker, but I really enjoyed this one. Sweet, very fruity notes in the aroma. I got cherry (obviously) and a bit of black currant as well. Pours a deep ruby red and slight head. Fairly clear. Not too tart in the taste and had that "funk" that is actually pleasing in this style. Low carbonation. This actually might be more flavorful at warmer temperatures.

This Belgian Sour Ale lives up to its category! It has a sweet and sour aroma and a light cherry color with a big foamy head. The flavor is the same as the aroma but it doesn’t linger for long. It is perfect after a nice long day!

750----> tulip. Pours a dark ruby with a small pink head and great lacing. Aroma is pretty straightforward raspberries and white wine. Taste follows aroma with a minor bit of sour at the end. Nice lively palate, but not overdone. I kind of wish this had been a bit more sour, but it’s a nice fruit beer that drinks easy (even my non-beer geek wife enjoyed).

This beer pours with a nice medium tan/red head and it has a very dark red, dark cherry color. It smells of cherries and sour ale. The taste has notes of sour cherry with vinegar. There is a nice sweetness that cuts through at the end of the sourness and makes this beer very palatable. Overall very surprised at this beer as my girlfriend picked it out at the store and wanted to try it. She does not like beer at all and loved this one. Good beer B+......

UPDATED: APR 10, 2007 On tap at the Rake, SE1. Nice deep red colour, small head, strong lacing. Reminded me of the Frambozenbier; lots of fruit, sherbert sweeness, but with a more yeasty finish. What distinguishes this beer is its sourness, not overly tart but a nice cherry flavour that hits the tounge. A very nice drink, smooth and fruity, but with that tartness in the mouth.

Sour, and sweet. Not super-sweet, but certainly sweet and not dry. Very sour fruity aroma as well. Good stuff.
