COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with cherries with natural flavor added. Contains barley malt. Wrap label: "Liefmans Cuvée - Brut is brewed only once a year, in July. After brewing freshly harvested and carefully selected cherries are blended in and the beer is cellared at the brewery. After a slow maturation of 18 months to 3 years different vintages are carefully tasted and blended to create the final result: a complex deep-red ale with refreshing balanced tart-sweet taste, strong cherry notes and sparkling carbonation."

2007 ’Kriekbier’, corked and nicely gift wrapped in label paper. Pours reddish brown, very thin beige head. Fruit juice smell, cider, vinegar - but not overpowering. Tastes of tart cherries, sweet n’ sour, less alive carbonation. Fruity wine palate on this whereas a gueuze might be more bubbly champagne.

37,5cl bottle from Drinks of the World. A beautiful reddish kriek with a very fine foam. Pleasantly sour with a clear but considerate cherry taste, this kriek is very convincing indeed.

Pours a dark ruby color. Aroma and taste are very nicely balanced between tartness and sweetness.

Bue en bouteille de 75cl, chez Mathilde, couleur rouge peu de mousse, effervescence importante, en bouche attaque acide citronnée, puis bien entendu grosse bouche cerise, continuité sur la kirch, fin de bouche fraiche et douce.

Dark ruby brown; little carbonation, thin reddish head. Smell is musty, funky, fruity; plenty of sour cherry aroma. Taste is quite dry; fruity tannins, yeasty body, some cherry aftertaste.

Bottle from Alko. Dark ruby red color, pink head. Sweet taste with cherries, berries, toast, wheat and malts. Sweet finish with cherries, toast and wheat. Excellent kriek, although having some sourness wouldn’t hurt at all.

Interesting, but not our style. Pours a nice clear brown. Smells and tastes very lambic and sour, with raspberry and green apple. Very sour finish. Tasted at the BevMo Holiday Beer Fest.
