You hear that sound? That’s the sound of bad beer. Can’t hear it? Pop the cork on this brew and you will hear it loud and clear. Good lord this was horrible. This is like peach soda. If I’d wanted a peach soda I would have gone to the soda section at BevMo. UGGHHHH. I really think this is on par with Lindemans line of lambics (except for the incredibly good Cuvee Renee) as being an embarrassment to the name lambic and the style I love. Syrupy sweet with an artifical peach flavor. Sort of like sucking on a piece of peach candy with artifical sweetner added. Nothing really redeemable with this beer. If you like soda-beer, then get this.

Ooooh, a retired Belgian! How shiny, you can even taste the rarity! Sadly, this was not the case. 2005 on the cork, and the only number I can make out on the cage is 2007. Cork came off with a nice enough pop. 375ml bottle. A - Apple juice body, a tiny white head that disappears really quick. Carbonation is minimal. Little bit of sediment. Its not yeast, just some floating bits of brown substance which I can only imagine is cork. S - Is putrid the right word? I guess not. Its certainly unpleasant though. Like stale spicy bread with some strong offensive odors towards the end. Just a hint of rotten peaches. T - Bread and some light peach flavor that’s followed up by some spice and off flavors. I can’t finish the bottle due to the flavor, but it is a bit better than the aroma. O - This beer did not age well. I know it didn’t have the most humble of beginnings (artificial sweeteners and spice?) but I have had success with some other aged liefmans beers. The kriekbier and frambozenbier actually held up quite well to 5 years. I’m afraid the de Boomgaard line falls short. I would avoid any and all bottles of this since they are now ALL past their prime...if it ever did have a prime.

Pours a light hazy golden color. Aromas of peachs, malts, and bread. Flavor is wheat bread with peaches on it, way to fruity for my taste. Its all I could do to suck this one down.

This poured a golden orange body with little of any head. The aroma is peach (Surprize!),maybe a bit too sweet. The flavor cuts back on the honey sweetness and delivers a fairly fresh fruit taste. Peachy finish and pretty refreshing.

Pours a hazy reddish golden almost brown see through color with a small white head. Aroma of peach, vinegar, musty funk. Flavor is sweet peaches, vinegar, syrupy sugars, and a little too cloying. Not very good.

Weak apple, pear, and peach aroma. Hazy golden pour, no head. Full peach flavor and mouthfeel. Delicious and refreshing.

This is certainly better than the Tropicale made by the same brewery. Good peach aroma and flavor. But there are much better peach Lambics to be found in the wonderful world of beer. A bit too sweet, but a fun beer to drink.

Don’t know why these Boomgaards get no love. They are sweet and delicious. Probably some inconsistency with the style. Who cares. Yum.

Lightly hazy deep gold, slight but creamy and lasting head. Aroma is quite faint and rather musty. Sweet malts, followed by a big hit of undefined sweetness, and some fruitiness on the finish that is somewhat peach oriented, but doesn’t exactly leap out at you. Perhaps a spiced and preserved peach. Not as offensive as I feared, but I prefer the Lindeman’s Peche if I’m going to go down this road.

375 ml bottle. Sour, lambic type, aroma, but peach is underlying that. Hazy golden amber (or light peach) color with a minimal white head. Leaves some lacing. Thin to medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor is lightly sweet and peach. It is slightly tart, but there is no lambic sour. There is some spice, and it reminds of a pickled, spiced peach. It is very tasty and refreshing. Good for the style.

Tart, metal, hints of peaches, buttery, caramel in the aroma. Pours cloudy orange/gold. Sweet malts, slightly only slightly tart with a little peach flavo r, not very good. The flavor is very "catty."
