3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shigadeyo (2399) - Harrison, USA - MAY 29, 2007
Date: 4/29/2007
Event: River’s Bend Belgian Workshop / Abbey Dubbel Brewout
Location: Ken’s House
Serving: 12.7 oz (375 ml) bottle shared by Lance, I believe. Thanks again!
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Sweet mango.
Appearance: Peach color with some sediment in it. Actually, it looks a bit like pear juice until it settles out a bit. It also has a thin white crown.
Flavor: Sweet with a nice mango flavor to it.
Palate: Light body and light on the palate. Very refreshing and a nice change of pace.
Overall: I actually enjoyed this beer quite a bit. The mango flavor was a nice derivation from the usual fruit choices. I think my wife would probably love this beer. Too bad she wasn’t there to try any!
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 skoisirius (1064) - Earth, Washington, USA - JUN 5, 2011
I remember we randomly got a case of this at some point and never saw it again. Big tropical type flavors with the apricots standing out, again really sugary. Fun, but nothing near dank.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 thedm (4126) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 10, 2010
This corked and caged bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent orange colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was spicy malty funky and fruity. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The cider like flavor contained notes of mild spice and apple. An OK brew just nothing special.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 oldrtybastrd (3229) - Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA - APR 6, 2010
Aromas of bananas, wheat bread, and a touch of something sweet. Flavor is a weird balance of mango flavor with malts and a crisp numbing dry finish. I’m not big on fruit beers, but this one has a subdued flavor, not over the top.

Fruity aroma with light orange color. This has a nice mango/tropical flavor and is very easy to drink.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2008
I think I’ve only had one other mangoed brew. That one was a sturdy IPA infused with the fruit and served up under the guise of a Christmas ale. This one is all about the mango. Having a hazy golden-amber body with a small white head, this has an aroma of mango. Period. It tastes of mango with a bit of apricot and a whole lot of white sugar. Drinkable, but once was enough.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 obguthr (2583) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - APR 23, 2008
Yeasty apricot aroma. Hazy golden with clinging bubbles. Solid apricot flavor which turns to peaches and oats. Strangely, this tasted more peche-like than their peche.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jgb9348 (3497) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 19, 2008
2005 Bottle, Sampled in 2008: Hazy orange coloured body with a nice thin off-white head. Aroma of apricots, mangoes, apples, pears and even some passion fruit. Medium-bodied; Great sweet fruity flavour shows well up front with some light malt and wheat behind with a tiny amount of alcohol noticeable too. Aftertaste shows a lot of sweet fruit with very little else. More of a fruit beer than a lambic by all senses, but definitely nice to try. Overall, worth trying if you like fruit beers or if you’ve got a girlfriend/wife that you’d like her to try the beer too! I sampled this 37.5 cL split bottle, purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 19-March-2008.
2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 daknole (5865) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2008
Very sweet and a bit over the top. It does pour a nice big head, but the beer is just too sweet. Mango and more mango. Sediment is also present in this beer, but in bigger chunks than I am used to.
