KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Aug 8, 2007 Corked bottle from Spec’s. Thanks, Spec’s!
Pours a rich, dark-- almost milk chocolate mixed with cherry syrup-- brown with an exsquisite aroma of raspberry and subtle strawberry. Nice off-white head sits proudly atop the beverage, and why not? I would, too, if I were a part of this beautiful libation. Flavor is malted raspberry, with a nice tart finish that fades ever-so-slowly. Great mouthfeel. Excellent sour ale! fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2007 Bottled 2004. Pours a hazy red/brown with a small short lived head that leaves some lacing. A punch you in the face aroma of raspberries and a hint of acidity. Taste is full of raspberries and just a hint of acidity. Medium slightly sweet mouthfeel. Like drinking a lightly tart raspberry soda with a touch of alcohol. thebeertourist (2753), Oslo, Norway Aug 5, 2007 Bottled 2006. Dark mahogny with a big creamy beige head. Mostly sweet raspberry nose. The flavours are more complex with the sour brown ale balancing the sweet raspberries with its yoghurty character. It ends drier, luckily. All in all, a beer with a lot of potential had they avoided the excessive sugar, I think. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 5, 2007 Hazy red with a small white foam. Fruity and malty nose. Raspberry and bitter sweet taste. Mesium body. slimchill (775), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 5, 2007 Bottle. Nose is sweet raspberry with lighter sour notes. Very dark with a red tint, little head. Amazing flavor. Really successful sweet/sour balance. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2007 375ml bottle. Pours out a dark brown color with a nice tan head on it. Smell is full of raspberries and just a slight hint of some funky sour notes. Taste is sweet and not overly sour. Heavy on the raspberries. Pretty good stuff really, much better at colder temperatures though. Still, not bad. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2007 gives a great presence of Raspberries. taste and feels more like a juice than a beer. The sour is just a tart linger that feel just about right. nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2007 The aroma has raspberries, yeast, and funky yeast. The appearance is red/brown with a foamy head. The flavor is fruity and slightly sour and not as tart as many Flemish Sour ales. It’s mostly sweet. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall a good beer.
