25 oz bottle, Well’s Discount liquors. Pours a clear bright ruby red body under a fizzy tight bubbled off-white head with a slight pinkish tinge. Moderate visible carbonation. The aroma is full of sweet and tangy fresh raspberries with a slight hint of vinegar. A little chocolate accent. The flavor is tart and sweet with a nice raspberry fore. Finishes with a slight vinegar and sugary sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slight sweet cloying stickiness on the finish. Nice pleasant soft carbonation. This was just as good in quality as the Kriek, but I found it to be a little more sticky and cloying. Probably just a personal preference thing, as I find the same situation with the New Glarus brews.

Very pleasant beer. Not as sour or tart as Lindeman’s. Brown in color with a little fruit sweetness.

Bottle with paper wrapper, and purple label underneath. Pours, reddish brown, really clear, hardly any head. Nose is overripe rasberries, and malt. Flavor is like a rasberry soda, only less sweet, and more alchohol. Loved it, but not as much as Lindys.

I had this at the ’Beer Bistro’ restaurant in Toronto on June 21, 2007. My particular beer was a Liefmans Frambozenbier, 375ml, 4.5% abv, and wrapped in a paper wrapper. This poured a beautiful maroon colour right out of the bottle with a beautiful raspberry aroma. The mouthfeel was crisp with some carbonation on the tongue. The beer started with a malty flavour with a lot of rasberry in it and finished with a crisp taste with a hint of raspberry. A truly wonderful experience for a fruit beer.

[375 ml bottle] Sweet raspberry jam aroma. Maroon in color.. almost cloudy, with a nice layer of pink foam. Flavors are tart, showcasing the fruit and a touch of sour acidity. Finishes quite dry, with some lingering fruit sweetness.

Bottle (375ml corked) at Københavnske Øldage. Murky, brown beer with a reddish hue, and a pinkish-beige head. Raspberries, sweetness, some cellar, caramel and spice-hints in the aroma. Raspberries, sweetness and cellar in the flavor. Not much cellar though. Slightly tart, citric and sweet mouthfeel. Acidic berry-finish. Nice one. (070512)

Bottle courtesy of HogTown Harry- thanks man! Pours out a murky, muddy raspberry ice tea colour. Very little head or lacing which was surprising. Smells like raspberry jam. Taste is very good- very raspberry forward but not sweet. Very clean finishing with some sour notes. A very refreshing beverage. Drinkability suffers some as I found the carbonation levels to be very high. I’ve been drinking a lot of higher test beers lately, so a step back at a summer thirst quencher is a treat. Not quite BG raspberry tart level but a great fruit beer in its own right.
